Since the heyday of R&B vocal groups in the late '90s and early 2000s, Az Yet has stood out for their silky harmonies, emotional depth, and timeless songwriting.
Originally formed in Philadelphia and discovered by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Az Yet quickly earned a place in R&B history with unforgettable ballads and pitch-perfect vocals. Their debut single, “Last Night,” soared to #1 on the Billboard R&B chart, hit #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached platinum status. Their follow-up, a cover of Chicago’s “Hard to Say I’m Sorry” featuring Peter Cetera, also went platinum and earned the group a GRAMMY® nomination.
Known for their lush harmonies and sincere lyrics, Az Yet captured the hearts of R&B fans around the world, including chart-topping success in Australia and New Zealand. They became one of the most respected vocal groups of their time — admired for keeping melody, musicianship, and message at the center of their work.
The Return
Today, founding member Kenny Terry continues the group’s legacy alongside returning co-founder DyShon Benson and new powerhouse vocalists Jibriel Patterson, Drayton, and J. Naugh-T! Together, they’ve formed a bold new chapter for Az Yet — one that celebrates everything the group is known for, while carving a new lane in the modern R&B landscape.
In 2024, they reintroduced themselves with a heartfelt cover of Atlantic Starr’s classic “Send For Me,” followed by a high-profile collaboration with legendary dance/R&B artist D-Train on an updated version of “You’re the One for Me.”Both releases were met with strong fan support and earned Az Yet an invitation to perform by Zeola Gaye, sister of the late Marvin Gaye.
The group also contributed to the Emmy Award–winning ensemble track “People Get Ready” (produced by Skip Martin), showcasing their continued vocal mastery and relevance.
2025 Comeback
Az Yet’s new album “7154” is set to redefine grown-man R&B. Their comeback single “Get Used 2 It” was personally selected by SiriusXM Heart & Soul’s B.J. Stone and is now in full rotation. It’s a powerful statement of the group"s didication to the spirit of R&B music, romantic maturity, and vocal unity.
The group is also set to release “4 Ya Bday” in summer 2025 — an anthem for celebration with that signature Az Yet polish.
